Our Favourite Farmers’ Markets to Visit This Summer in Caledon

Caledon is a beautiful area known for its rural areas and charming towns. The scenic landscape has made it a prized destination for homeowners across the GTA.

Regal Crest’s new collection of 32’, 38’, 45’, & 50’ singles at Upper Caledon East, located just south of Old Church Road off Airport Road, is your opportunity to experience all this region has to offer — from its scenic trails, to local craft breweries, to its seasonal produce.

Now that we’re in the heart of the summer, here are some of our favourite local markets near Upper Caledon East.

  • Downey’s Farm Market

A well-known destination, Downey’s is a fourth-generation family farm that has been operating in Caledon for over 100 years. It’s less than 20 minutes from Upper Caledon East, and offers activities like mini golf, trike tracks, a corn maze, puppet shows, tractor tours and playgrounds. For the adults, the market is a great place to pick up local syrups, jams, and honeys along with top-quality produce.

  • Rock Garden Farms

Rock Garden Farms is a family-run farm that has been in the area for over 45 years. It’s only five minutes away from Upper Caledon East and is a fantastic place to find fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables, as well as homemade pies, breads, and more. Their rotating selection is sold from April to October, and includes raspberries, strawberries (which you can pick yourself!), gooseberries, leafy greens, tomatoes, potatoes, and more.

  • Amber Farms

Amber Farms is an organic farm and market that has been operating for over a decade. They grow everything without the use of chemicals or pesticides for better tasting, nutrient-dense produce that you can feel good about eating. It’s located just 10 minutes away from Upper Caledon East.

  • Aurora Farmer’s Market

The Aurora Farmers Market was established in 2002 and held in the main town park of Aurora every Saturday from May to October. It’s a bit of a drive from Upper Caledon East but it’s less a farmer’s market than a fair. It hosts live performances, holiday parades, and outdoor vendors that sell household goods and souvenirs. It brings in nearly 2,000 visitors every weekend.
